Frequently Asked Questions

General Information

What is speech therapy?
Speech therapy helps children improve their communication skills — including speech sounds, language comprehension, expression, and social communication. Therapy sessions are play-based, engaging, and tailored to each child’s unique needs.

Who provides the therapy?
All services are provided by a licensed and certified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with experience supporting children in a variety of developmental stages and communication needs.

How do I know if my child might benefit from speech therapy?
If your child has difficulty being understood, struggles to express thoughts or follow directions, or seems frustrated when trying to communicate, an evaluation can help determine if therapy would be beneficial.

What happens during a speech and language evaluation?
Evaluations include a mix of play-based activities, parent interviews, and standardized assessments to understand your child’s strengths and areas for growth. You’ll receive a detailed report and individualized recommendations.

How often will my child attend therapy?
Most children attend sessions 1–2 times per week, depending on their goals and needs. Therapy frequency is always personalized. We also offer biweekly or monthly options as well.

How long will my child need therapy?
Every child’s progress is unique. The duration depends on the type of goals, consistency of attendance, and practice at home. Progress reports will be updated quarterly.

Do you provide speech therapy near me?
Yes! We provide on-site therapy services at participating daycare and preschool locations in the Columbus, OH and surrounding areas. This allows children to receive therapy in a familiar environment while saving families valuable time.

Do you offer in-home speech therapy near me or teletherapy sessions?
Yes. We offer flexible service options including in-home and virtual sessions based on your family’s preferences.

Can I be involved in my child’s therapy?
Absolutely! Parent collaboration is an essential part of therapy. We share progress updates, home practice ideas, and strategies that fit naturally into your family’s routines.

What can I do at home to support my child’s progress?
We’ll provide simple, play-based ideas that blend into everyday moments like mealtime, playtime, and reading together.

Do you accept insurance?
Bright Echoes Therapy is a private-pay practice. This allows us to provide flexible, individualized care without insurance limitations. We can provide superbills for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

How do I pay for services?
Payments can be made via credit card, debit card, or HSA/FSA card. Payment is due at the time of service.

What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a session. Late cancellations or no-shows may be subject to a fee.

Do you work with children with autism or AAC needs?
Yes. We provide neurodiversity-affirming care and specialize in supporting children with autism, AAC (augmentative and alternative communication) needs, developmental delays, and social communication differences.

What ages do you serve?
We work with toddlers through school-age children — helping each child find their voice and thrive in their daily environments.
